Co-Op was awarded the Excellence in Summer Learning Award!
Presented by National Summer Learning Association, this national honor recognizes the top summer programs that support creative youth education experiences and their social-emotional learning and well-being. Co-Op was recognized as an exceptional camp program for blending the joy of summer with high quality STEM education based in project based learning with a child centered approach. LEARN MORE

Celebrating its 60th year, Co-Op Summer Enrichment provides 5 weeks of academic & recreational experiences for 200+ students from all 4 Mamaroneck School District elementary schools. The program serves mostly families who cannot afford to attend other local summer programs. The program also employs & mentors a diverse group of local teenagers to promote leadership & employment opportunities and incorporates the RISE Leadership Program for Hommocks Middle School students.

The Co-Op Mission:

To provide at-risk students with equal access to exemplary summer enrichment in a safe environment that promotes independent thinkers and collaborative learners.
To engage various community resources and stakeholders in meeting the District’s goals of providing a continuum of services and academic enrichment while encouraging summer fun

About The STEM Alliance:

Based on the recommendation of the Co-Op Steering Committee, the Mamaroneck Board of Education awarded a contract to The STEM Alliance to design and lead Co-Op Summer Enrichment in Summer 2017 and renewed the contract each summer since. Summer 2026 will be the 10th year of leadership by The STEM Alliance.

The STEM Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing K-12 STEM education and enrichment initiatives to benefit students, parents and educators in our schools and community. Our stated mission is to bridge systemic gaps to provide equal access to critical science, technology, engineering and math learning resources with the goal of empowering communities, inspiring innovation and creating opportunity for all.
